This Powerful Video By Elle Introduces Different Gender Identities And Its Time We Know Better

India is home to a lot of bias, prejudice and ignorance when it comes to LGBTQIA community and issues that hound not just identities but innumerable lives that society categorises as per its convenience. As ones that can not be boxed are labelled and branded with terms that are nothing more than insults.

And, amidst all the reasons it stems from, the lack of awareness contributes the major amount of paranoia which later breeds hate. But It’s time we accept our flaws, it’s time we take a step to rectify it and it’s time we know better.

In an effort to bolster that school of thought, Elle India has brought together people from the LGBTQIA community to echo a voice, a collective voice that is here to educate and enlighten us about the gender identities we need to know.

But this is only half of what the video means and aims to convey. In progression, the messages delve deeper into the psyche of all the four people and more who are subjected to humiliation and jeers just because they know who they are (and they dare to accept themselves just like they are).

But maybe, just maybe, if we learn to use language more judiciously, we will make a change. Don’t you wanna be a part of it? Thought so…
