Donate ₹1 Lakh To Families Of Pulwama Martyrs & Get Bail, Says Telangana High Court To Accused

In the wake of the Pulwama terror attack, heartening stories of denizens supporting the families of our martyrs have surfaced. Be it the Sheikhpura DM who adopted daughters of two of the slain or the NRI who raised Rs. 6 Crore for families of the men we lost.

Now, in a radical move, the Telangana High Court offered to grant bail in a case of cheating if the accused would donate Rs 1 lakh to the Sainik Welfare Fund. Justice B Shivashankara Rao announced this on Friday when (the applicants) organizers of Sun Pariwar Group requested bail.

Methuku Ravinder, CEO of Sun Pariwar Group of Companies along with his associates was accused and arrested in December 2018. The charges were that they duped 14,000 investors for more than Rs 150 crores with the promise of large monthly returns.

They had initially obtained bail from the court on the condition that they cooperate with the investigation. However, they failed to cooperate with the investigating officers and subsequently, the court cancelled their bail.

That was when the accused moved the High Court against cancellation of bail. This prompted Justice B Shivashankara Rao to contemplate and review the orders, reports New Indian Express. He then announced that the unusual yet much-lauded condition for bail.
