26-Year-Old Indian Residing In US Raises ₹6 Crore In 6 Days For Families Of Pulwama Martyrs

On February 14, a 22-year-old member of the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad named Adil Ahmad Dar initiated a suicide bombing attack that shook the entire nation. The aftereffects of which can still be felt all around us. The nation grieves the loss of the CRPF Bravehearts who lost their lives on that day.

Now that the suspected mastermind has been gunned down, the next step is to support the families of the martyrs. The government has created Bharat Ke Veer for people who wish to help out financially. Apart from this, many people have also come forward in their individual capacity to do their bit. Inayat Khan, DM of Sheikhpura, has adopted daughters of two jawans.

And Viveik Patel, a 26-year-old Indian living in the US has created a fundraiser on Facebook to raise donations.

The fundraiser started on February 15 because Viveik was unable to contribute to Bharat Ke Veer through his US-based credit/debit cards. With an initial goal of $500,000 (~ INR 3.5 crores), he has managed to bring together over 22,000 people and collected more than $850,000 (~ INR 6 crores) in 6 days. Everyone lauded his efforts and contributed to the cause.

He received many calls from residents in other countries offering help and a local radio station spread awareness about his fundraiser. Soon, however, some questions were raised on how the money would be transferred in the right hands.

Viveik cleared all doubts the donors had in this video

Keep faith and do support our nation 🙏🏼 #PMOIndia #IndianArmy #PulwamaAttack

He also shares regular updates and relevant screenshots of his correspondence with consulate officials in the States.

The latest update shared by him says that he’s still waiting for a funds transfer and wants to ensure that only an authorized GOI delegate receives them.

Such efforts cannot bring back the loved ones but can certainly help the kin of the slain soldiers financially so that they can tide over this difficult time with a little ease. It’s the least we can do for their sacrifice to the nation.
