After Experiencing Hailstorm & Rain, Delhiites Wake Up To Thick Fog On A May Morning

These days, Delhi is known, not for the Red Fort or Dolma aunty ke momos, but for the hazardous air that the people of the national capital have been breathing of late. We have messed up the climate so much that people are witnessing heat waves in winter and are opening their eyes to fog in summer.

After it poured heavily in Delhi accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning recently, the weather in Delhi became pleasant. People also experienced hail and gusty winds.

Delhites were also greeted with a pleasant surprise this morning after they saw fog around with the mercury dipping drastically.

Taking to Twitter, people shared glimpses of fog in May and it’s a sight to behold.

Jokes and memes on Delhi’s current weather were also shared online.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted rainfall and hailstorms for the next five days across Delhi-NCR.

According to reports, the temperature today dropped to 15.8 degrees Celsius, making it the third coldest morning in May since 1901.

It’s definitely a respite from the scorching summer heat but fog in May is an indication that global warming is for real.
