Indian Gutka Company Employees Allegedly Created Ruckus On Royal Caribbean Cruise

For all the ruckus Indians create about following sanskar, often we see that the moment they step out of the country or even outside their familial circle, all this sanskar seems to go out the window. Anyone who’s been to Goa during the vacations knows what I’m talking about.

A group of around 1300 Indian men made their cruise experience a nightmare for other passengers on board the Voyager of the Seas, operated by the Royal Caribbean International.

According to Fox News, these men who are employees of the Indian gutkha company Kamla Pasand boarded the cruise ship in Sydney for a conference. However, once on board the conference took on a more party mode.

The Sun reports that other passengers on the cruise ship reported that the group “hijacked” the cruise by taking over pool decks, bars and buffets.

Dancers and women dressed as playboy bunnies were also paraded and made to dance on the deck. To make matters worse, some men allegedly also harassed other passengers and filmed young girls on their phones.

Christine Weyling, a passenger on board the “nightmare cruise” blames their bad experience on the Royal Caribbean:

“It was crazy… little Playboy bunny outfits, you know this is a family boat. I think that they should have notified us that there was a big group that had been booked and had booked the pool deck out… everyone on that ship should have been notified”

Families were reportedly forced to stay in their rooms to avoid the scantily dressed women.

Another passenger on board, Cassandra Riini compared it to a bachelor party saying:

“Their doors would be open and you would walk past and be like, ‘What am I going to be looking at when I walk past this door?’ It is hard to forget after seeing all the flashbacks of these men around all the time, 24 hours a day, like we could not escape.”

Following an overflow of complaints, the Royal Caribbean International has issued an apology to the passengers who were inconvenienced by the “party” conference:

“After a three-night sailing from Singapore on September 6, several guests shared their concerns with us about the behaviour of a group of other guests aboard the ship. We were able to quickly provide them with a satisfactory solution to their concerns. Royal Caribbean operates with the safety of our guests and crew as our highest priority. We are continuing to review this incident to ensure that our guest conduct policy is applied appropriately.”
They have also provided a full refund and an apology to the other passengers on board. Based on the evidence, this seems like an extremely shameful incident. Though vacations are pretty much synonymous to letting loose, we shouldn’t go to such an extent as to be an inconvenience to others. After all, doesn’t our sanskar say the same?
