A while back, two videos of a couple, who look like college students, kissing on two different railway stations in Mumbai went viral online.
The couple doing PDA was recorded by commuters without their permission and the video was shared online. The commuters also took offense to their act of kissing in public and called the cops on them.
According to Mid-Day, one of the videos was shot by a passenger on the platform near Dombivli’s platform No.5, while another video was taken by a passenger from the train on a CSMT platform.
An eye-witness of the incident at Dombivli railway station named Shailesh said that passengers were angry at the couple. “Upon further inquiry, I came to know that the couple was kissing each other in a public place and the other two passengers objected to all this behavior in a public place and left.”
Reacting to the viral video, Anil Shelke, a Dombivli government railway police officer told Mid-Day:
“We have also seen the video. It is wrong to do such things in a public place. We have registered an NC and are investigating further for misconduct in a public place. We could not get the footage as there was no CCTV camera coverage where the incident took place.”
People online also reacted to the viral video and slammed those who went to the cops crying ‘public indecency’.
People on Twitter called out the hypocrisy saying that no one reprimands those who pee in public places.
People have pathetic lives to have a problem with this . How evolved were our Kama sutra days . We have no problems people swearing n fighting n shitting n peeing in public BUT LOVE … NOOOOhttps://t.co/EOKk0UPIfy

Just a thought, All these men who have an issue with this, see no problem in simply peeing in open public places!#JustSaying
As for kids, for your own safety..avoid PDA!

Welcome to India where kissing is a shame, but lynching in broad daylight happens in God's name. https://t.co/X3Ricv0i2P

Indians will not report about smokers in public places, though it's not allowed by the law and makes the environment unhealthy.

"What to do, people from today's generation have no shame" says a passenger who saw a couple kissing at the railway station & expressed his anger.
Only if people could behave in the same way against offenders for spitting!https://t.co/KuGtQACEvr

This is so stupid. Men urinating or flashing at women at Railway station is a common occurrence. But it hardly receives this kind of angry reaction. A couple kisses and all hell break loose.
Should catch those who recorded it violating their privacy.https://t.co/N68T4FqWhm— Arti_Ghargi (@arti_ghargi) March 10, 2022
How dare two consenting adults express something as heinous as LOVE in public? 😱

Never seen these so-called "commuters" approach police for people pissing and shitting in public.https://t.co/AszgSnLc5y

Consent is wrong. Love is wrong.
If only we focused on more serious "crimes" than 2 kids expressing their lovehttps://t.co/9cxPtokUZz— Divya (@ivy_kain) March 10, 2022

A majority of people pointed out that there are hardly any voices against those spitting, peeing, and shitting in public despite having public toilets. But it becomes a public concern when two consulting adults kiss in public. What do you think?
