Patna College Students Fool Authorities, Invite Bar Dancers To Saraswati Puja Function

Student life is inarguably the best time in any person’s life and more so when you’re in college. I mean let’s face it, when the strict routine of school life was lifted from your shoulders, you felt a little elated. As college students, all of us have enjoyed the occasional (or regular) mass bunks and the sneaking out of ongoing lectures.

However, these college students took it up a notch higher when they invited bar dancers in their Saraswati Puja function.

The incident occurred on the campus of BN College, Patna on Monday night as the students crossed all levels of decency and danced with bar dancers on the occasion. The video of the incident has now gone viral and has left the authorities stunned with shock.

According to a report in Times of India, the Principal Raj Kishore Prasad, said that he was in the college at about 7:30 to attend the Saraswati Puja celebrations. The students told him that they were organizing a small ‘Devi Jagran’.

A shocked Prasad admitted to the media that he did not know about the incident until he saw the viral video and immediately called the Proctor and Vice-chancellor. He added,

“The college administration asked the hostellers about the incident, but they denied any such dance performance. We will not go soft on them and strict action will be taken against the students who were involved in this act.”

A show-cause notice to the hostellers has also been served and they have been given 36 hours to give explanations. He has also lodged an FIR with the Pirbahore police station against the college hostel’s puja committee.

The students have also been accused of cheating the administration in the name of organizing a cultural programme. A five-member committee has also been set up to probe into the incident and report within three days.

PU Vice Chancellor Rash Bihari Prasad Singh also had a similar story to tell when he went to the campus at 6 pm that night.

Patna DM Kumar Ravi also said that the matter would be probed from all angles and added,

“We are also trying to find out whether the policemen were also involved in this programme because in the video footage, there were some police personnel present there.”

Indulging in light mischief is one thing but cheating college authorities cross another level of decency. First ferrying alcohol in ambulances and now this? We wonder how the authorities can remain so oblivious to such incidents happening under their noses.
