This ‘Energy Cafe’ Uses SCRAP For Designing Its Interiors And It Looks Surprisingly Elegant!

We have all been at a place where we wondered what we should do with the old bicycle just lying unused outside. What happens to all the old factory furniture and control panels.

Well, a cafe called “Energy Cafe” in Bihar takes all the ‘scrap’ that is usually thrown away and turns them into awesome furniture for their interiors.

The scrap they have used are literally sourced from dumping grounds. Most of the scrap in the dumping ground just stays where it is, leaching harmful chemicals into the ground.

Pratyaya Amrit, principal secretary, energy department decided to take the scrap and turn it into art and furniture for practical purposes. The energy department anyway wanted to open a canteen to sell subsidised food.

“We decided to do something out-of-the-box. the idea was to transform, while keeping the energy intact.”

And different is what they did!

Even the decorative items on the walls have been fashioned from scrap. How did they do it? Patna-based designers Manjeet Singh and Neha Singh remodeled all the scrap into the furniture you see above.

The energy department is going one step ahead and is planning to make the cafe profitable by leasing it out to a private company. Until then they are going to serve organic food and no junk food. Also on the menu are four types of tea, including Bihar’s special masala tea.

“We want it to be a place where people can increase their energy level.”

Looks like it already it one.
