Mumbai Lad Kills Self After Posting Tutorial To End Life. Are We Still Hush About Depression?

In a day, there is so much, about so many things that attract our attention. Some worthy, some not, but there is also a sect that talks about things you never want to hear. Things that jolt you out of your comfort and brings you face to face with brutal reality.

In one such incident, a 23-year-old student in Mumbai took his life but only after he did something that will send chills down your spine.

The deceased, identified as Arjun Bharadwaj, jumped to his death from the 19th floor of Taj Land Ends, Mumbai owing to depression after recording a Facebook Live video on steps for committing suicide.

Arjun, a third-year BCom student of Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics college blamed none but depression. The aforementioned video, however, has been taken down.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Arjun in his tutorial gave steps to end one’s life by writing notes, getting intoxicated- he was seen smoking and drinking- and enjoying the view while savouring bacon pasta. Before taking the plunge he said,

“Ok, I don’t think I can record this while doing it. But f*** it, okay cool… See you guys on the other side.”

The lad from Bengaluru also left nine notes for his family and friends, asking for apologies and saying goodbye.

He also put up a Facebook post prior to the unfortunate event, in moments where he was possibly giving up on every hope he had with life.

But whose fault is this? The boy who could take it no more? Or Depression who has claimed another amidst us? And how long before we start treating it as an ailment that needs as much as help as a physical wound? Are we not age enough to understand mental health and the importance of its awareness? But there is a silver lining…

In the hope to find answers to the above imperatives, Mumbai Police, doing all that they can, also took to Twitter and urged the youth to voice it out.

Even Anushka Sharma made it clear that mental health is not a taboo.

An accidental death report has been registered in this case and the cops are probing further.

But before you leave, ask yourself if there is anyone who could use a friend and a patient hearing! Please?
