The last lap of ‘Animal’ gave the audience a huge adrenalin rush as Vijay (played by Ranbir Kapoor) chased after Abraar (played by Bobby Deol) and the two ended up fighting shirtless for allegedly two hours on a tarmac. Of course, Vijay was the quintessential ‘bad guy’, but Abrar was even worse and as the two ‘animals’ fought it out, there was no space left for a mended relationship.
However, Bobby Deol spilt an interesting piece of information about the film in an interview. Apparently, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had planned that the two enemies would kiss during the fight. However, he later removed the scene.
“Sandeep said, ‘You’re fighting, and you suddenly kiss him, and then you don’t give up, and he kills you’. But Sandeep removed the kiss. There was a kiss. I think it might come on the uncut Netflix version. After saying all this, he said, ‘You’re mute’,” India Today quoted Bobby saying.
Bobby further explained that Vijay and Abrar were two brothers who wanted to kill each other but also had love for each other, which is why while they fight, a very emotional song plays in the background.
“There are these two brothers, they want to kill each other, but there’s a love that they have for each other. I’m going to shoot the climax sequence with a song playing in the background, which is about love.”
Wouldn’t it have been really interesting if the kiss actually made it to the final cut? 😀
