A few days ago, the news of the government wanting to officially change India’s name to ‘Bharat’ made headlines. In the upcoming 5-day Parliament sessions that are set to take place from September 18, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is speculated to bring a resolution. This sparked a massive meme-fest online, where people were joking about how some of the country’s top companies and institutes, like IndiGo and IIT will now have to change their names as well.
As it turns out, this has already started to happen. According to NDTV, the logistics company Blue Dart has rebranded one of its premium services in India from Dart Plus to ‘Bharat Dart’.
A statement released by the company read, “This strategic transformation marks a milestone in Blue Dart’s ongoing journey, underscoring its unwavering commitment to serving the diverse needs of Bharat. Blue Dart Express Limited invites all stakeholders to join on this transformative journey as the company continues to connect Bharat to the world and the world to Bharat.”
This news yet again gave way to hilarious responses online by people who requested Blue Dart to work on developing their delivery services rather than rebranding the company. Here’s what some people online said:
