Biswa’s Insightful Facebook Post On Demonetisation Gives You A Lot To Think About

Biswa Kalyan Rath is one of the funniest comics in the country today. However, apart from comedy, Biswa is also quite renowned for his profound thoughts about the various happenings in the world. Sometimes these thoughts may be in the form of rants while other times they may come as insightful questions lending a fresh perspective to an ongoing argument.

In a Facebook post recently, Biswa made an interesting observation about the recent demonetisation initiative by PM Modi. The comic argued that people were willing to brave never-ending queues only in the hope of a fair system.

There is one thing to be learnt about Indian people from demonetisation.
Indians are extremely well behaved and peace-loving people who will stand in queues for days without incident if you give them even a glimmer of hope for a fair system, which is the least they deserve.
When they break queues then, it’s not because they don’t know how to stand in one; it’s because they are tired of being let down by the system, again and again, have lost all faith in fair means.

Makes one wonder, if a glimmer of hope can achieve so much, what could an actually fair system do?

People were promised that the demonetisation move would nullify the unlawfully accumulated wealth plaguing the nation and ensure a fairer system.

Biswa ends on an important question: If just the hope of a fairer system can make the citizens so cooperative, just imagine what an actually fair system would do?

Just think about it.
