Rajesh Kumar, a man from Bihar’s Chhapra, was all set to get married to Rinku Kumari, a woman from Saran. On the day of the wedding, the rituals were going on smoothly but Rajesh gets a call from Rinku’s sister Putul. She threatened him that if he gets married to Rinku, she would jump off a building and kill herself.
According to India Today, after the varmala ceremony, Rajesh Kumar stopped the wedding. He revealed to both families that he was in love with the bride’s sister Putul and wanted to get married to her. Hell broke loose and both families engaged in a heated scuffle. The police had to be called to settle the matter.
When asked about the entire back story, it was revealed that Rajesh fell in love with Putul way before his marriage to Rinku was fixed. She had her intermediate exam at a college in Chhapra and would often visit the city and meet Rajesh. They spent time and slowly became fond of each other. As they spent hours talking on the phone at night, they fell in love too.
For Putul to see Rajesh getting married to her elder sister was unbearable. So she apparently had two choices left – either to stop the marriage or kill herself. After hearing the full story, both families decided to wed Rajesh and Putul to each other.
And that’s how a heated situation ended happily!
