Having a love affair is as difficult in some parts of our country as normal it is in other parts of the world!! Some people call dating, extreme westernization, some others believe it is against our Indian culture. We have many a time come across cases where local political organizations make couples out on a date on Valentines Day tie the knot.
In a similar incident, a couple was caught on a late-night date in a Bihar village, what happened next will freak you out!
A man from Sahibganj village decided to take his girlfriend from a nearby village on a late-night date. So, he sneaked out of his village and went to Koniya village in Motihari district where his girlfriend lived, reported India Today.
Though the couple tried hard to keep their date under wraps, some people in the village got to know about the man who had visited Koniya to see his girlfriend.
Soon, hundreds of villagers gathered and caught hold of the couple. An emergency meeting of the village panchayat was also called. After discussing the matter, the panchayat asked the woman if she was willing to marry her boyfriend, to which she said yes. The man was also asked the same question and he said a ‘yes’ too.
A priest was immediately called and the two of them were ordered to take their nuptial vows on the spot!
What adds insult to injury is that all this reportedly happened in the presence of the cops! We are grateful to the panchayat for being thoughtful enough to take the couple’s consent before marrying them off. But we also believe that when and where two people are should get married must be left completely up to the couple and shouldn’t be forced!
