Finally, after 4 years, we have a Shahrukh Khan song!
‘Besharam Rang’ from SRK’s upcoming film ‘Pathaan’ which also stars Deepika Padukone was dropped online today and it’s safe to say that fans across the world lost their calm. However, there have been some strong reactions and polarising opinions. But before that, I’d like to drop some bombs.

I have been a devout fan of not just Shahrukh Khan but also Yash Raj Films. You cannot think about hit SRK films without mentioning YRF. For example, Veer Zara, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, DDLJ, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Mohabbatein, etc. are all classic YRF films starring him. So it is kind of a given that ‘Pathaan’ will not disappoint because the previous ones surely didn’t.
However, SRK has aged and it’s showing.
He can no longer be the quintessential romantic hero dancing alongside a female actor half his age. He did it in ‘Zaalima’ but that was probably the last of the best.
Even the rugged, muscular, Johnny-Depp look doesn’t help. What came as a surprise was Deepika’s screen presence which, if I may say so, was better than SRK’s.
Deepika Padukone’s screen presence was better than Shahrukh Khan’s in ‘Besharam Rang’. There, I said it.
Yes, this scene has its own fan base and King Khan is looking dapper in it.
But if SRK has 3-4 scenes where he owns it, DeePee has the whole song and to be honest, she does most of the heavy lifting.
Also, many people online seem to think that ‘Besharam Rang’ was heavily inspired (read: copied from) by ‘Ghungroo’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Vaani Kapoor.
