Sania Mirza And 6 Other Indians Make It To BBC’s “100 Most Inspirational Women”

Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza had a tremendous year winning tournaments after tournaments from Wimbledon Women’s Doubles Title to the US Open.

Now, she has been featured in BBC’s ‘100 Women 2015’ all over the world.

Every year, BBC names 100 women in every field who makes it into the prestigious list.

 
Apart from Sania Mirza, 6 other Indian women also feature in the list. Here are the names.

1. Asha Bhosle (Singer)

Asha Bhosle who started working in Bollywood in 1943 has recorded more than 1000 songs till date.

 

2. Kamini Kaushal (Actress)

Kamini, better known as the Vivienne Leigh of her generation in Bollywood, has acted in more than 100 films. She was the leading actress in Neecha Nagar which won best film in Cannes in 1946.

 

3. Smriti Nagpal (Entrepreneur)

Smriti works as a sign language interpreter and set up Atulyakala, an organization that empowers deaf artists through selling products like bags, mugs, wallets and journals.

 

4. Kanika Tekriwal (Entrepreneur)

5. Rimppi Kumari (Farmer)

Rimppi is a farmer who, along with her sister Karamjit, took over a 32-acre farm in Rajasthan after their father died.
