It’s OKAY To Wear A Lingerie And Post It On Social Media. You Don’t Need To Body-Shame Her.

Clicks a selfie, checks it, posts on social media. Nothing wrong so far, right?

How about this? Clicks a selfie in lingerie, checks it and then posts it on social media.

Oh, the virtual world crumbles! There’s frenzy amid netizens, there’s trolling, there’s shaming, and there are A LOT of judgments pouring in from left, right and centre. Now, add an actress to the equation. Certainly, all this is now happening on a larger scale. But I want to ask you just one thing, WHY?

On the eve of International Yoga Day, ‘Behaydh’ actress Aneri Vajani aka Saanjh, instagrammed a picture of herself in lingerie. She captioned it saying, “When You Own Your Breath NoBody Steals Your Peace! Happy Yoya Day! 🙂 #yoga day!”

And, it became a really big deal. There was massive body-shaming, and shamers who called her skinny, questioned her bra size, called her names and blew her comments section up with really mean things.

But tell me something, why is it such a big deal? Why is she being slammed or thrashed or passed judgments at for wearing whatever she wanted to wear?

There were people who were shaming the shamers too. They came out in Aneri’s support and asked each troll to mind their own business.

Aneri responded like a boss and everyone’s lauding her for her spirit.

In the past too, actresses Nia Sharma, Rubina Dilaik, Sonarika Bhadoria have been shamed for their Instagram pictures and Bollywood celebrities often keep getting slut-shamed or fat-shamed. This really needs to stop. Like, REALLY!

“To each his/her own” should be the mantra and people should really get a grip. Because it is ok to wear lingerie and post it on social media. It is ok do whatever, whoever wants to do. It is ok to feel comfortable in one’s own skin. But it is absolutely NOT ok to shame anyone’s body size or choice of clothing or them in general.
