This Women’s Day, Air India Will Operate Its Longest Flight With An All-Female Crew

Everybody has their own way to celebrate, commemorate and honour Women’s Day. Air India decided to honour this day in their own way.

For this International Women’s Day, Air India will operate its longest flight from Delhi to San Francisco with all women crew.

The flight will have 14 crew members and 4 pilots; all of them would be women. The 14,000 km distance would be covered in 17 hours.

It’s a symbolic move as this flight would be the longest one to be operated solely by women. From cockpit crew, cabin crew, check-in staff, doctor, trimmer, ground handling staff to the traffic control, everything would be operated by women.

Captain Ramya Kirti Gupta said, “The flight is a symbol of women empowerment and it will encourage women to step out of their comfort zone and succeed in the male-dominated arenas too.”

That’s not the whole story. On Women’s Day (March 8), Air India will operate over 20 all-women crew flight in domestic routes.

And this is done every year.

The San Francisco flight left Delhi on March 6th and will land on March 8th.

The vigour with which Air India celebrates Women’s Day is worth applauding.

More power to women!
