Reality Check – The following article states cold hard facts with fact sources right under the points. There is no gender misogyny or misandry propagated. It is actually just one side of a very man-dominated coin.
The world is changing for the better. Even for women.
But until it changes, women have to bear the brunt of being a woman.
But all is not so gloomy for them. They have some distinct advantages we all have noticed in life.
Physical advantages –
1. Women are better at surviving lower temperatures than men
Women have a thicker layer of subcutaneous fat than men and that makes them better at handling cold temperatures than men.
2. Women have better olfactory lobes – that is, they have better and more sensitive noses than men
They do not have any more smell receptors than the men, but because of the hormone estrogen, their sense of smell is more sensitive and they can detect odors men cannot.
3. Women are better at verbal communication than men
Women use 5 vocal tones to communicate and men use only 3. They are also very fluent verbally and have denser auditory cortex, that makes them listen better and communicate better.
4. Females are better than men in fighting infections
Men typically have more red blood cells than women; and women have more white blood cells as compared to men. They also produce antibodies at a much faster rate. And this is why they are better at fighting diseases than men.
5. Females live longer than men
This is because women take lesser risks in life than men. Women traditionally smoked less and drank less. They didn’t drive and didn’t take up jobs with dangers.
This is changing, however. As women are becoming more equal and doing the things men do, their life expectancy is reducing too.
6. Women are unlikely to suffer with alcoholism, antisocial personality disorder and psychopathy, and developmental psychiatric disorders
Although women are less likely to be affected from alcoholism, they are more prone to addiction.
Women have a variety of social advantages too –
7. A woman can be freely “manly” but a man cannot be freely a “girly”
Men are ridiculed when they are even slightly effeminate. They are called by homophobic slurs and are shunned by peers.
On the other hand, women are always looked with respect if they do anything a man does.
8. Women perform much better than men in school
The evidence is staring right at you since the start of your schooling.
9. A woman can cry at a drop of a hat and people do not even blink
Actually, it is considered completely normal if a woman cries. Empathy wells in people when they see a woman cry.
The same is not true for men. A man who cries should ideally be called sensitive – but the society ridicules this aspect too.
10. Women are less likely to end up in prisons
Because women are inherently non-risk takers.
11. A woman can just get out of bad situations like caught travelling ticketless on this account
How many times have you seen a women get out of a sticky situation just because she cried and the person of authority panicked and let her go?
Classrooms, trains, traffic police – women have exploited this aspect more than once in their lives.
12. A woman is believed to be nonviolent. If there is a case of domestic abuse by a woman it is hard to believe
Statistics say that the instances of women committing domestic abuse is as prevalent as men perpetrating it.
But the incidences aren’t reported, and people do not buy it that a woman can beat up a man.
13. Women are less likely to commit suicide
Men are 3.5 times more likely to commit suicide than men.
14. The same stands for sexual harassment.
Women aren’t perceived as sexual predators. They can commit a crime of rape and get away with is.

15. Women aren’t expected to propose, ask people out or be romantic at all
When was the last time you saw a woman walk up to a man and ask him out? It rarely happens and proposals are even rarer.
The nervous feeling of walking up to a person with a good chance of being rejected is to be suffered only by men.
16. Women can steer away from a dangerous job and it is fine
Everyone sighs in relief if women give up a job that is supposed to be dangerous. Forget dangerous jobs, even the normal jobs have glass ceilings to break.
And men love it when they are not broken.
17. Women can fake a good orgasm and have the luxury to do so
And we know why men cannot fake one.
For each one of these advantages, women have to face double the disadvantages. But times are changing and we can see the changes happening as we read these words.
Hope there is a day when the line between genders blur to a point that we have to be creative to actually come up with disparity between genders.
