Aaj Tak Runs Video Sourced From A Pak Channel About Om Puri’s Ghost Seeking Revenge. WTF!

I have realised, and correct me if I’m wrong, the definition of news has gone through drastic changes over the years. I mean, yes, oddity was always a characteristic of news (in the making) but the term bizarre has only crept up now, and bizarre doesn’t even cut it!

Well, while we are still at it, remember the time when a Pakistani reporter broke the ‘news’ that the legendary Om Puri didn’t die of a cardiac arrest but was ‘murdered’ by India’s PM Narendra Modi and NSA Ajit Doval? The reason, because he was ‘fond’ of Pakistan? Or the time they ran a report on Om Puri’s ghost roaming the corridors of his Mumbai flat seeking revenge from Ajit Doval? The report by Aamir Liaquat, an anchor with Pakistan’s Bol News, came out on 14th January. And honestly, that ain’t our cry either.

 

Turns out the ‘news’ hit the home turf only this weekend when Aaj Tak, an Indian news channel decided to rerun the video where Om Puri’s ghost is allegedly roaming and seeking revenge in a white kurta (because ghost)!
