Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has always believed in speaking her mind even if her opinions upset a certain section of the society. And for that, she hasn’t even hesitated from locking horns with the who’s who of B-town be it Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh or actress and politician Urmila Matondkar.
Now, it’s veteran actor Kamal Haasan who became her recent victim. Criticizing the Tamil star’s idea of recognizing housework as a salaried profession, the ‘Manikarnika’ actor said that “we don’t need salary for being the Queens of our own little kingdom.”
The actor said reportedly so in response to a tweet by Thiruvananthapuram MP, Shashi Tharoor. The politician tweeted in support of Haasan’s proposal and said “this will recognize & monetize the services of women homemakers in society.”
I welcome @ikamalhaasan’s idea of recognising housework as a salaried profession, w/the state govt paying a monthly wage to homemakers. This will recognise & monetise the services of women homemakers in society, enhance their power& autonomy & create near-universal basic income.

However, that didn’t strike a chord with Kangana who retweeted his tweet and wrote:
Don’t put a price tag on sex we have with our love, don’t pay us for mothering our own, we don’t need salary for being the Queens of our own little kingdom our home, stop seeing everything as business. Surrender to your woman she needs all of you not just your love/respect/salary. https://t.co/57PE8UBALM

Soon after, responding to a comment by a follower, Kangana said that the idea is “partially painful” and “partially funny.”
It will be worse to reduce a home owner to home employ, to give price tag to mothers sacrifices and life long unwavering commitment,It’s like you want to pay God for this creation, cause you suddenly pity him for his efforts. It’s partially painful and partially funny thought.

According to reports, actor-politician Kamal Haasan had promised to pay women homemakers a monthly wage for their domestic work. He listed this in his seven-point agenda for the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly polls.
