RCB’s Shivam Dube Bursts Crackers After Virat Kohli Urges Everyone Not To, Twitter Reacts

Every family has their own way of celebrating the festival of lights, Diwali. On Saturday, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli urged everyone to enjoy the festivities sans crackers to reduce air and noise pollution. In the states of Delhi, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Rajasthan, firecrackers were completely banned. In UP, Bihar, only green crackers were allowed and in Haryana and Andhra Pradesh, they were allowed between 8 pm to 10 pm.

News18 quoted the Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper saying, “A very happy Diwali from me to you and your families. May God bless you with peace, prosperity, and happiness this Diwali. Please remember do not burst crackers, protect the environment, and have fun at home with your loved ones with a simple diya and sweets on this auspicious occasion. God bless you all, take care.”

However, later that day, RCB all-rounder Shivam Dube shared photos of himself bursting phooljadis and anars while wishing his Twitter family on the occasion.

Subsequently, sports fans started sharing memes on how Kohli’s own teammate didn’t listen to him and further questioned if this is why the IPL franchise didn’t win the tournament.
