Two weeks ago, on September 14, a 19-year-old woman became a victim of a brutal gang rape, the news of which has sent shockwaves to the entire nation. According to NDTV, the woman hailing from Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district was out on the fields to cut grass with her family when she was tortured and gang raped by four men.
The woman’s brother told NDTV:
“My mother, sister and elder brother had gone to a field to get some grass. My brother went home earlier with a large bundle of grass, while my mother and sister continued to cut them. The women were a little far from each other. Four-five people came from behind, they threw my sister’s dupatta around her neck and dragged her inside the bajra field.”
“My mother realized she was missing and went looking for her. My sister was found unconscious. They had raped her,” he added. Following the brutal assault, she was admitted to AMU’s Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital, reported News18.
The woman had suffered multiple fractures, her tongue was cut off and her legs were entirely paralyzed while her arms were partially paralyzed.

Let’s just hope justice is served at the earliest and the authorities come up with strict regulations to curb the increasing crimes against women in the country.
