The Indo-China clash in the Galwan Valley where 20 Indian Army soldiers were killed is said to be the biggest military confrontation to have taken place in the past 5 decades along the LAC. #BoycottChineseProducts soon started to trend on social media where Indians were calling a complete ban on anything remotely connected to China.
Indian Army, in their statement, had claimed that there were “no Indian troops missing in action” and had rubbished rumours of several soldiers going missing after the June 15 clash.
However, as it turns out, 10 Indian Army personnel including a Lieutenant Colonel and three Majors were in Chinese custody. According to The Hindu, they have now been released and returned unharmed after a Major-General level negotiation that took place on Wednesday. The Indian Army’s earlier statement did not provide any details about the soldiers in Chinese custody.
According to The Indian Express, this was the first time after the 1962 Sino-India War that Indian soldiers were taken into custody by the Chinese troops.
Several people took to Twitter to address the issue and raise questions as to why such critical information was withheld by the government.
The government said Indian soldiers were not “missing in action”. Now it emerges that 10 soldiers including two majors and a Lt Col were being held by China and released yesterday.Story broken by the Hindu. Now the Indian Express is reporting the same. https://t.co/MSTs1UPKW5

For three days, the PLA illegally held 10 Indian soldiers captive. It is mind-boggling India remained silent about this, while China was at the time publicly blaming India for an 'attack that violated international norms'.https://t.co/m5UP7mQg1d

10 Indian troops were captured by the Chinese and have only been released last night. Why was this kept such a secret? What else is being kept secret? The Indian public has a right to know exactly what’s happening at #LadakhBorder #IndiaChina https://t.co/ENrkoPdwHZ

China frees 10 Indian soldiers. We were told none were in captivity…
Why break public trust with such discrepancies?

Governemnt never informed its citizens.
I can understad Party/govt spokespersons lying as they have stakes in hiding truth and investment in building the edific of lies but why so called defence experts/analyst lying, this is deeper malaise.

This incident immediately reminds us of Wing Commander Abhinandan’s captivity by Pakistani troops after the Pulwama attack and the nationwide outrage that followed.
