We all remember our first day of college, now don’t we. It’s that very exciting time of our lives when some of us have to move out of home to another city or country, not having to wear uniforms anymore, and are soaking in our new found freedom. It’s magical!
But for a lot of people around the world, getting into college can be a very expensive and uncertain situation. But when they get through, it’s a wonderful feeling not just for them but the parents too.
So when this Texas mom heard the news of her daughter being accepted for college, she couldn’t contain herself and started twerking in the principal’s office!
When LaJuana McCree received a call from her daughter’s school, she arrived with a “serious face” concerned about what the matter might be.
“I was ready for war. I thought Promise (her daughter) had gotten into some serious trouble”, she said.
“There’s something else that you need to talk about. It happened today, and I’m going to let Promise tell you what happened,” a school official said to her while she nervously looked at her daughter.
“I got accepted into Grambling (Grambling State University in Louisiana)!”, Promise said excitedly.
Her mother’s reaction was then a sight to watch!
The Grand Prairie Independent School District shared a video of the scene online and it is gold!
The post read: “It’s not often you see a parent happy to be called to the Principal’s office but LaJuana McCree’s weariness quickly turned into a celebration.”
First Generation College Student Celebrates Acceptance to Grambling State University
It’s not often you see a parent happy to be called to the Principal’s office but LaJuana McCree’s weariness quickly turned into a celebration. Ms. McCree’s pride and dance moves could not be contained at the news her daughter had received an acceptance letter to Grambling State University. GPISD senior Promise McCree has attended college classes as part of her course work at SGP Early College High School. Her dream of continuing her education at a university was realized when she heard from Grambling State University where she will major in criminal psychology. #GPISDCollegeBound #GPISDCollegeReady
