A Hospitalised Ms Swaraj Promises To Bring Back Dead Man’s Body From Tokyo To His Family

Sushma Swaraj has proved it time and again that she is the leader we all need. Ever since she has assumed office as the External Affairs Minister of the country, she has not just helped countless Indians who were stuck in foreign lands but also foreign nationals who needed aid. She is even helping people while she herself is recovering from a kidney transplant.

Gopal Ram, a Delhi man passed away on December 10 in Tokyo. However, his family couldn’t bring his body home due to monetary issues. When Ms Swaraj heard of the case, she assured that she would help the family.

Gopal Ram died due to a cardiac arrest. His family, residing in Delhi was unable to get his body back as they did not know anyone in Tokyo. Gopal’s eldest son, Jatin said,

“The Indian Embassy in Japan has been asking for documents like a letter authorising somebody to receive his remains in Tokyo, and also an income certificate to prove that we are not able to afford his repatriation.”

Gopal’s wife, Radha Devi contacted the Delhi Commission for Women, who forwarded her plight to Ms Swaraj. A tearful Radha said,

“I just want to see him once before he is gone forever.”

Now that Ms Swaraj has taken the matter into her own hands, we can hope for a prompt action from the Indian embassy in Japan. She has been no less than a white knight for all the people in need.

India would definitely become a much better place to live if we get more politicians like Sushma Swaraj.
