It’s so beautiful when love blossoms.
When it’s just a mere sapling. In our teens, we experience the mysteries of sudden attraction and learn that there is a world full of romance out there and we become eager to explore it. We make mistakes, we experience exhilarating happiness, we experience heartbreak and rejection. But it’s all part and parcel of the beautiful thing that is teenage.
Here are a few movies that’ll remind you all the bittersweet memories that somehow got suppressed in our quest of adulthood and it’s innocence that faded away with time.
1. A Walk to Remember
This heartbreaking story of cancer-ridden girl experiencing the love of a lifetime deserves no less than a million tears and smiles even more than that. This movie reminds us that love doesn’t have to be something that lasts all your years, it can work miracles even in the spark of a second.
2. A Cinderella Story
A modern take on Cinderella’s story and finding out that love doesn’t need pretenses, all you need is a connection. Oh, how this movie was a dream waiting to come true in those days!
3. 10 Things I Hate About You
A rollercoaster of a movie depicting a rollercoaster that is teenage love. And how much of a doll Heath Ledger was! We miss you Heath. 🙁
4. Flipped
The most beautiful portrayal of the innocence of falling in love for the first time ever. Somehow your first love stays with you and this movie reminds you of how your heart fluttered silly every time you were around your first love. 🙂
5. Forrest Gump
See how far his first and his last love takes him in the incredibly amazing story of this man called Forrest Gump.
6. Grease
A summer affair which becomes more like destiny when life puts both of them against each other wherever they go. Coincidence much?
7. First Love (Thai)
The quintessential young love movie which everyone goes through at least once in their lives.
8. She’s all that
A high school jock makes a bet of taking the geeky girl of the school to the prom and ends up falling in love with the poor little girl. Does it get any more dreamy than this?
9. High School Musical
Music=Love. Isn’t that really the best thing? At least, it was when we were teens. 🙂
10. Aquamarine
A little cutesy twist to the legend of mermaids. Didn’t we wish our lives were so magical too?
11. Juno
A hilarious journey of a ballsy girl who gets pregnant but totally rocks it. An unexpected rollercoaster of emotions maintaining a comic facade, this movie is a must watch.
12. Say Anything
The iconic, John Cusack holding the boombox over his head scene. That’s all the reason you need to watch this movie!

22. Dirty Dancing
How dancing overpowers everything! Dirty Dancing is an absolute cult for die hard romantics, and rightly so.
23. Romeo+Juliet
A candid adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, it’s a story of an innocent love blooming between the rift of their families who are pretty much more than gun friendly. Now, why is Romeo Juliet such a fabled love story you ask me? Because love has no use for violence, it’s much bigger than petty worldly fights, it transcends all boundaries, even death.
Go now! Reminisce. 🙂
