In the current times, our mobile phones have become an extended part of our body without which most of us feel incomplete and sometimes, anxious. It’s the first thing we check in the morning and never forget to take it along, even to the loo. Safe to say, this obsession can be termed as addiction.
Content creator Yuvraj Dua tapped on this unbreakable bond and our dependency on our mobile phones and created a satire video that is way too real.
Dua starts the short clip by stating that without taking any psychedelic substance we have fallen prey to a new addiction, i.e., the urge to check our phones 24×7.
He continues, “Har paanch minute baad, haathon mein insta khulna ki khurak aise machcti hai, jaise angutha ragad ragad ke ismein se jinn nikal ayega aur teen khwaisye puri karega.”
It translates to, “We have a tendency to scroll through Instagram every five minutes as if rubbing a thumb on the screen will make a genie pop out and fulfill our 3 wishes.”
Going forward, he adds, “Screen time toh aesa lag raha hai sarkar k under aa gaya hai. Har cheez k bhaao k tarha ye bhi badhta jaa raha hai. (Screen time is also increasing like inflation.)”
He then rightly highlights that in spite of gaining knowledge, we have memorized the trending songs.
“Bhagwaan ne dimaag me storage de rakhi hai gyan praapt karney k liye, hisaab kitaab karney k liye and hum isme kya ghuseed k baithey hai- Abcde, O Antava Mawa, Kacha Badadam.”
He then goes on to ask the real question, “Are we using the phone, or the phone is using us? Are we using up the phone’s battery or is the phone using our brains? Are we paying the phone’s installment or the device is ruining our sleep in installments?”
