This year is ending on a high note for Mumbai Indians as they lifted the IPL trophy for a record 4th time. And, now as IPL 2020 auction takes place the franchise teams are engaging in a fierce bidding war to ensure that they get the best players.
According to Business Standard, Kolkata Knight Riders bid Rs.15.5 crore for Australian pacer Pat Cummins and 17-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal received a bid of Rs.2.4 crore from Rajasthan Royals. While many top players were recruited quickly, Yusuf Pathan didn’t get signed by any of the teams due to his previous performance.
Tamil Nadu cricketer Shahrukh Khan was also one of the players that didn’t get selected, reports Hindustan Times. The irony is that the auction took place in KRK’s home state Kolkata, a team owned by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
