Yusuf Pathan Fails To Receive Bids In IPL Auction, Brother Irfan Posts Heartfelt Message

The IPL 2020 auction took place in Kolkata yesterday and the franchise teams (Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Kings XI Punjab, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings) engaged in a fierce bidding war for players.

According to Business Standard, KKR bid Rs.15.5 crore for Australian pacer Pat Cummins and KXIP recruited all-rounder Glenn Maxwell for Rs.10.75 crore. 17-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal received a bid of Rs.2.4 crore from RR and big monies were spent on youngsters like Ravi Bishnoi, Virat Singh, Priyam Garg, Kartik Tyagi, and Varun Chakravarthy.

However, cricketer Yusuf Pathan, who was released by SRH didn’t get signed by any of the teams, reports NDTV. Post the auction, younger brother Irfan shared an encouraging note for his Lala that melted hearts online. Take a look.

This has been attributed to his performance in the previous two installations of the game. His 15-match average in 2018 was 28.88 where he took one wicket. In 2019, he played 10 matches with an average score of 13.33 and no wickets.

People applauded Irfan for his brotherly love and also pointed out that the IPL cannot define anybody’s sporting career.
