Desi Women Discuss ‘Unfair’ Rules & Harassment They Faced During School Days

It’s 2020 and we’re still facing and battling deep-seated sexism in various areas of our lives. For instance, former Supreme Court judge Katju recently made a misogynistic comment, “Good girls sleep early,” or how someone called out Scotch-Brite for its sexist logo.

Other women shared horrifying instances where they had to face harassment, both verbal and non-verbal at the hands of male schoolmates or even the male staff. The experiences range from teaching girls how they ought to “behave” to predatory behavior like groping, all of which happened within the school premises, which is supposed to be a safe space for kids.
