Father Takes 2-Year-Old Daughter To Her Future Grave He Dug For Her, Everyday.

Father-Child-Grave

There’s a lot of happiness in the world, but there’s a lot of sadness too. One cannot simply measure who’s sadder, just like one cannot measure who’s happier. There’s no meter to measure emotions. This account of a father is extremely heart-breaking and it will hit you right where it hurts.

Suffering from Thalassemia, two-year-old Zhang Xinlei visits her grave each day in Neijiang city, southwest China. Her father, Zhang Liyong, takes her there. Just to acquaint her with death.

Zhang Liyong and his wife have tried their best to treat their li’l kid, but since they have no more money left, they’re preparing her for the worst outcome.

Liyong and wife Deng Min — have already spent 101309 Chinese Yuan (₹967618) in baby Xinlei’s treatment — are in deep debts and now nobody is willing to lend them more money for their baby’s medical care.

“We borrowed money from many, but they are no longer willing to lend us more.”

They even tried to have another child and his wife is pregnant the second time, just so that they can get the umbilical cord blood for the transplant. But they don’t have the money to afford that transplant too.

Hence, the only solution according to them was to prepare their toddler for her death. To “familiarise her with her future burial space” so she is not scared when the time comes.

“I could only come up with this idea – bringing her to play at this place. This is where she will rest in peace. All I can do is accompany her every day.”

Our hearts are aching with pain and we have absolutely no words to even sum up what that strange pit. We just hope baby Xinlei doesn’t have to go through this ordeal and that the Zhangs find a way to keep their baby girl’s life safe.

GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for Xinlei’s medical treatment.
