Now, all you health-conscious people might be thinking, ‘but sugar isn’t good for our health’. Well recently, celebrity nutrition expert Rujuta Diwekar listed down reasons why one SHOULD eat Halwa and Sheera now!

Sharing a picture of her bowl of halwa, she wrote that these desi desserts that were served traditionally during puja as ‘Prasad’ worked like an immunity-boosting shot of sorts. She added that eating home-cooked food in sync with the season is healthy for the planet and its people.

While highlighting the benefits of consuming our favorite desi sweet dishes, she also asked people to share the celebratory meal of their region.
