Cricket is popularly referred to as the ‘Gentleman’s game’ but the action that takes place on the field often cross the boundaries of sportsmanship. Carried away by the high intensity of the game, we have seen the very best of players fail to justify the saying.
A similar incident took place after the Bangladesh boys overcame the Sri Lankan hurdle to reach the final of the Nidahas Trophy. The match turned out to be a last over thriller with batsman Mahmudullah hitting a six to seal it in the favour of the Tigers. However, what followed next was anything but sportsmanship.
A jubilant Bangladesh team showcased an act of disrespect when the players came together to perform the Naagin dance to express their satisfaction.

The celebrations did not stay restricted to that as the Bangladesh dressing room was completely damaged with the glasses shattered.
Needless to say, the act did not go down well with the Twitterati and a plethora of fans who slammed the visiting side on the social platform!
Even Tigers can do ‘Naagin Dance’!

Naagin Dance? seriously?
Well won, Bangladesh, but the drama was uncalled for.
This was way, way worse than what Rabada did.
I hope ICC are really harsh with demerit points this time.#SLvBAN— Abhishek Mukherjee (@ovshake42) March 16, 2018
On point
Bangladesh learn to behave before cricket.. they overdo things. #SLvBAN

Are you hearing, ICC?
If Rabada gets a suspension for touching Smith, the entire Bangladesh team should be barred from playing cricket unless they learn to behave! Pathetic representation of the game. #SLvBAN

The immature behaviour of the men in green and red was a moment of disrespect and highlights the irony of the ‘gentleman’s game’. While the Bangladeshis have taken a gigantic leap forward in the recent years as far as the quality of cricket is concerned, they certainly need to rethink behaviour. What do you think?
