The trailer of Kartik Aaryan starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh released a couple of days back. The trailer of the rom-com which stars Bhumi Pednekar as ‘Patni’ and Ananya Panday as ‘Woh’ has been receiving severe criticism from the audience for its sexist jokes.
A monologue about sex in the film where the male lead, Kartik is seen joking about marital rape has irked the audience. Ever since people have been calling out the makers of the film for misogyny and insensitive remarks.
After facing fierce backlash, the makers of film have reportedly realized that the marital rape line in the trailer has hurt the sentiments of many.
Just watched the trailer for Pati Patni aur woh.
It is an abomination to say the least. And if a movie like Kabir Singh wasn't enough, Bollywood has given birth to another atrocity which only normalizes the notion of marital rape and glorifies adultery.— Riyaa (@thescarnbee) November 7, 2019
Currently writing a paper on marital rape in India & having just seen the Pati Patni Aur Woh trailer, Kartik Aryan should be so very ashamed of this bullshit. We're trying to change the legislation & mindset & this dumbass is casually saying stuff like that onscreen. Fuck you.

So, they have decided to exclude it from the final film, reports Republic. The makers of the film have allegedly said that after Aaryan’s hit monologue in Pyaar Ka Punchnama, they tried to pull off a similar one on marriage in their film but it ended up offending the audience, reports News 18.
The film’s female lead, Bhumi Pednekar has also apologized for the marital rape remark in the film.
“If we have hurt anybody’s sentiments, we are sorry, because that wasn’t the intention. But everybody who is involved in Pati Patni Aur Woh does not belong to that school, does not belong to that thought process,” she told News 18.
“Mudassar (Aziz, the director) has always celebrated women. My films say a lot about what I feel about my gender and what I am trying to do. We are constantly working towards reducing the gender gap. So, I am not going to be a part of anything that will increase it. I have said ‘no’ to a lot of movies where they were ready to pay me s**t tons of money but I didn’t do those films. Those films have gone on to become massive hits,” the actress further added.
We hope this decision and
