Yuvraj Singh Apologizes For Casteist Remark Against Yuzvendra Following Police Complaint

Back in April, ex-cricketer Yuvraj Singh and Rohit Sharma had an Insta live session where among other things, they discussed the TikTok videos made by Yuzvendra Chahal with his family members.

India Today quoted Yuvraj saying, “Yeh bh**gi log ko kaam nahi hai yeh Yuzi aur isko (Kuldeep),” to which Rohit replied, “Yuzi ko dekha kya video daala hai apni family ke saath. Maine usko wahi bola ki apne baap ko nacha raha hai, pagal toh nahi hai tu.”

Following the conversation, people on social media asked Yuvraj to apologize for making the casteist remark and the hashtag Yuvraj_Maafi_Maango began to trend. On May 2, Haryana-based lawyer Rajat Kalsan filed a police complaint against him, reports The Indian Express.

Today, the former all-rounder issued an apology saying he was misunderstood, “However, as a responsible Indian, I want to say that if I have unintentionally hurt anybody’s sentiments or feelings, I would like to express regret for the same. My love for India and all its people is eternal.”

The cops initiated a probe into the incident yesterday and there is no update on whether the advocate will now withdraw his complaint.
