Yami Gautam Slams Anupama Chopra’s Film Companion For Their Review Of Her Film ‘Dasvi’

An avid reader and a serial movie-watcher would often try to read the review of a recently released movie or series before watching it to see if it’s worth their time or not. Hence, movie critics have a lot of responsibilities on their shoulders and sometimes can also be a catalyst in its success.

But recently, Bollywood actor Yami Gautam got irked when critic Anupama Chopra’s ‘Film Companion’ came up with a lengthy review of her film ‘Dasvi’ that recently released on Netflix. The movie also stars Nimrat Kaur and Abhishek Bachchan.

Reacting to her movie’s review, Gautam said that it was ‘disrespectful’. Through her multiple tweets criticizing Film Companion’s review, she said that even though she takes constructive criticism in her stride, she would like them to not review her performance henceforth.

Attaching a screenshot of the review article that read, “Yami Gautam is no longer the dead girlfriend in Hindi films, but the combative smile is starting to get repetitive”, the ‘Uri’ actor added that “when a certain platform keeps trying to pull you down consistently, I felt it necessary to speak up about it.”

She added that once she used to look up to the portal’s review but not anymore as it takes years of hard work for a self-made actor like her to keep proving her mettle with every opportunity.

Responding to her alleged allegations of being disrespectful, the portal tweeted:

This is how people reacted to Yami’s aggressive lashing of the portal’s review.

Earlier, Chetan Bhagat said that movie critics write rubbish and ruin lives. What do you think of Yami’s aggressive criticism of the portal’s review?
