Writer Accuses ‘Koffee With Karan’ Of Plagiarism, Says They Used Her Work Without Giving Credit

Karan Johar’s latest episode of ‘Koffee With Karan’ seems to have brewed controversy instead of just coffee and conversations. The episode featured Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan, and KJo was yet again accused of favouritism and “bullying” Sara with his insensitive questions about her upbringing.

However, that’s not all. A writer named Manya Lohita Ahuja accused the show of plagiarism, reported Indian Express. In one of its segments where the two actors were asked to guess the film based on badly explained plots, Karan threw at them a question from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

The “badly explained plot” was: “A grown man who can’t tie his shoelaces ends up accidentally revealing his hidden identity to his former nanny.”

However, way back in 2020, Manya had published an entire quiz with similar questions and one of them was the exact same question for K3G that Karan Johar used in his show.

Manya took to Twitter to allege that they lifted the question from her copy, and used it in their show without giving her any credit.

She also shared a clip from the episode to explain her case:

She also took to Instagram to write that she won’t be letting this go and demanded credit for her work, IE further reported.

“I have decided that I cannot let this go. I want credit for my work— it may not be world-changing work, but it is mine nonetheless.”
