Desis List The Worst Roles Given To Female Actors In Films That They Shouldn’t Have Accepted

Did you ever see a Bollywood film and just gasped at the role written for a celebrated female actor and wondered why she took the role in the first place?

From laughably less screen time to insignificant contributions to the entire plot of the film, female actors are often reduced to eye candies in films which mostly revolve around male actors. Take Katrina Kaif in Dhoom 3 for example. She just had 2 dance numbers and extremely less screen time. Even if she wouldn’t have been in the film, it wouldn’t have made much of a difference.

Similarly, people online have been listing the worst role given to a female actor in a lead role in an Indian film after Twitter user @aavishkar popped the question.

From Deepika Padukone in Happy New Year to Alia Bhatt in Brahmastra, from Rashmika Mandana in Pushpa to Vaani Kapoor in War, people online had a lot to say about this. Have a look:

It is just incredibly disappointing to see makers of commercial films unable to write a decent, solid role for female actors. Forget supporting characters, even female leads in many commercial Bollywood films don’t get a role where they can offer much. Don’t you agree?
