Rejoice Mumbaikars, Vada Pav’s Ranked Among World’s Best Burgers By Michelin Star Chefs

A cheese-loaded hamburger or a meat patty stuffed between two buns with pickled veggies and loaded with sauces are my guilty pleasures on days when all I do is, eat, sleep, Netflix and repeat. Although the burger can sometimes be messy to eat, it is still the comfort food for most youngsters today. And thankfully, there is at least one burger for every palette.

And among the many big names that made it to the ‘World’s Best Burgers’ list as picked by the ‘Stars of Gastronomy’, our humble Mumbaiya Vada Pav also made the cut. The vegetarian crispy patty served between buttery soft buns with a side of ‘sinus-clearing spicy chutneys’ and deep-fried green chilis from a snack centre in Mumbai was chosen by culinary elites, said a report by India Today.

The staple food of every person residing in Maharashtra is not only yummy but economical too. Mostly because you can’t just stop at one. It was selected by Michelin star chefs Ravinder Bhogal of Jikoni in London and Prateek Sadhu of Masque in Mumbai. Well, this proves that burgers don’t usually have to be meaty, greasy, saucy or highly-overpriced, right?

So, there you go vada pav lovers. The next time someone tells you, ‘this isn’t even a burger’ (in their fake accent) just tell them ‘Nope, it’s not just a burger but one of the best in the world.’

Bon appetite, people!
