Yeah those fancy English breakfasts with cheese omelet, buttered toast and sausages can make you feel all sophisticated. But don’t lie to your self, the real desi in you, loves scrumptious Indian food. The aaloo and gobi ka parantha with a layer of butter and dipped in curd, poha and for my very Punjabi family even halwa classifies as breakfast.
However, personally for me there is something about the classic sambar, idli, vada and dosa combination (no, not all at once, I’m not eating for an entire country) that just makes my heart flutter.
Yep. Talking about food. Not a man. Cause heart fluttering that’s comfort for me, no man does that. *cries in the corner while snacking on munchies*
And hey guys, let’s celebrate because it is World Idli Day. So bring out the sambar and chutney and dig in cause Twitter has already taken a bite.
1 . On the occasion Shashi Tharoor began his day with idlis!
Today is #WorldIdliDay in honour of my favourite daily breakfast food! Began my day in Thiruvananthapuram as usual with idlis. Always marvel at the ancient geniuses who invented this greatest of all foods…. pic.twitter.com/ciUTBd9CET

2. Absolutely all-time comfort food.
Got to know from @smitaprakash that today is #WorldIdliday! Here goes my favorite Idli from old Bangalore's iconic Brahmins Cafe. A little thread about this anytime-comfort food. 😊 🙏 pic.twitter.com/BLtyz7YEmO

3. Not a big fan. What!?
Today is #WorldIdliDay, not a big fan but still occasionally like to have soft idlis with coconut chutney/podi&ghee pic.twitter.com/nB9uJb3wUM

15. Twitterati and their outrage.
Is there anything called worlds biryani day? Let's not show partiality in foods too…when there is no biryani day there will be no #worldidliday #FoodieForLife 😡
— Totoro (@krishna_rachana) March 30, 2018
So hey, idli fanatics, I’m sure the coconut chutney is made and the sambar is hot (don’t forget the dried red chilies, that’s my favourite part.) So hands, spoons, forks or however you eat, at the ready. Bon Appétit! ?
