Desis Slam Companies That Want Their Employees To Report To Office Amid Bengaluru Floods

Currently, Bengaluru is submerged in flood waters and the silicon valley of India is trying hard to stay afloat.

Even the CEO of popular companies are using tractors, trolleys, and JCB to reach offices amid massive floods in Bengaluru.

The situation is pretty worrying on the ground. And taking cognizance of it, many companies have instructed their employees to work from home. However, many people are forced to resort to such dangerous means of transport to pass the waterlogged areas just to reach their office.

Calling it ‘bad management’ for companies to insist employees work from the office, a Twitter user wrote:

“If #Bengaluru tech firms still insist employees to commute to the office, it is bad management and lack of foresights. This ain’t 2005 but we are in 2022 and despite COVID changing our lives. Why would someone insist commute?”

Many are using tractors as their mode of transport for Rs 50 to be dropped at their workplace as they can’t take so many leaves from the office.

Everyone wants companies to declare WFH for employees in such tragic situations.

We have been working from home over the past couple of years, another WFH day would save everyone a lot of harassment and risking their lives. What do you think of this scenario?
