In our society, most women are expected to settle down, get married and leave their parent’s home after a certain age, preferably during their mid-twenties. A woman in her late twenties or thirties still living with her parents can often become a victim of social ridicule.

While some said that their parents have no problem that they live with them, a few others expressed how they are pressurised to “settle down”. Some even revealed how their relatives and neighbours ridicule them.
