Woman’s Secret Santa Turns Out To Be Bill Gates, He Sends Her 37 Kgs Of Gifts

I hate playing Secret Santa. You know why? Because my friends are just the worst who think it is funny to gift me a bar of soap for Christmas. I’m not even kidding! But do you know who absolutely loves Secret Santa and ended up receiving THE BEST gifts ever? A woman named Shelby whose Secret Santa ended up being Co-Founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates!

According to a report by Mail Online, 33-year-old Shelby from Michigan participated in the RedditGifts’ Secret Santa Exchange which is joined by Bill Gates every year. As fate would have it, Gates ended up being her Secret Santa and sent her 37kgs of gifts!

Reports revealed that the package was so heavy that it didn’t fit into her car. She had to open the package and take out all the items and stack them up in the back of her car to make them fit!

Her gifts included a Harry Potter Santa hat, a giant Hogwarts castle, an R2D2 puzzle that is no longer being sold, Harry Potter and Star Wars lego sets, a handmade quilt depicting scenes from Nintendo’s ‘Legend of Zelda’ video game series, a crate filled with memorabilia from the show ‘Twin Peaks’, an embroidered L.L. Bean jacket worn by a crew member, 5 scripts of the 2nd season of ‘Twin Peaks’, a hard-bound manuscript of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s ‘The Great Gatsby’ with scans of the author’s handwritten notes as he was writing the novel, several boxes of Oreos, cat treats, and a hammock.

According to a report by Fox News, Shelby’s most special gift given by Gates was a donation made by him in honour of her mother to the American Heart Association. She had passed away earlier this year.

There was a package that contained a photograph of Gates signing a letter enclosed as proof. He also wrote:

‘I know no gift will ever make up for losing someone so important to you. I was very sorry to hear about your mom and I’ve made a donation to the American Heart Association in her memory. I hope you and your family find your new normal this holiday season.’

Every year, Gates and his officials do thorough research on the recipient’s life. Which is how he found out everything about Shelby’s mother, her likes and interests.
