One of the biggest mistakes that people make is that they do not see if their thoughts, values, priorities and future plans align with the person they’re about to marry. After the ‘honeymoon period’ subsides, clashes begin because the two parties didn’t talk about important things like finances, work ethics, managing household chores, and other priorities beforehand.
For example, a woman named Priyanka took to r/India on Reddit to claim that the guy she is about to marry isn’t serious about life. She revealed that he is a freelancer and that the money he earns isn’t enough to sustain the family.
“Now why I’m still with him? No choice I have. I am 35+ already and hardly getting any matches. Now the guy I’m marrying, I don’t like him at all. He is self-centred, always making me feel that he is already successful in life. I am telling him to find a job but he brags about his current earnings,” she wrote.
The woman, on the other hand, used to work at a firm but later lost her job. She is currently trying to find a job. So basically, if she gets married, she would be financially dependent on him so she wants him to find a ‘stable’ job, even though the guy is perfectly happy with his work and earnings.
