After Breakup With BF, Woman Marries Herself In ₹1 Lakh Ceremony & Kisses Herself In Mirror

In a wonderful transition, a lot of people have been practising and preaching self-love. The focus has now shifted from external validation to the self and instead of looking for love and respect outside, people are searching and finding it within themselves. The idea is simple – Loving yourself is the most important thing.

Hence, in an act of self-love, a 35-year-old woman named Meg Taylor Morrison from Atlanta, Georgia, married herself and threw a wonderful ceremony. She bought herself a wedding dress, cut a wedding cake, and made vows to herself, reports Mirror UK.

She decided to marry herself after she broke up with her boyfriend. However, she says that she wasn’t trying to “heal” herself or “compensate” for being single. In fact, she says that she would have married herself even if she were in a relationship!

“I wanted to marry myself as an act of self-love. Part of marrying myself was about going beyond people-pleasing or trying to look a certain way. It was about saying yes to my own desires,” she says.

So, on her big day, Meg walked down the aisle while the wedding guests blew bubbles and drank champagne, she accepted her own wedding ring, said her vows to herself, and kissed herself in the mirror!

According to Times Now, the entire ceremony cost her £1,000 (Rs 1.02 lakh approximately).

For Meg, marrying herself is an act to remind herself to “trust her own judgement” and “put her own health and happiness first on a daily basis.”

In a similar incident previously, a man in Brazil tied the knot with himself after his fiancé broke up with him and had a huge ceremony.

Well, marrying yourself means to love, respect, cherish and prioritise yourself before anyone else for a lifetime, and I think it is beautiful!
