Woman Burns Her Clothes To Give Light For Surgery Even Though Doc Had A Torch In Hindi Film

There are such gems that have come out of the film and television industries in India ki kya hi bataye! Innumerable movies and television serials have scenes which will make you question your very existence, let alone basic science. One such scene is from a film called ‘Jai Hind’ released back in 1999 and featured Rishi Kapoor, Manisha Koirala and Shilpa Shirodkar.

In the film scene, we see Manisha Koirala performing surgery on a man inside what looks like a tent with very little light. Funny thing is, she is using a scalpel for the surgery and it is clean as a steel plate before lunch! Where is the blood?!

The doctor complains that she needs more light, so Shilpa Shirodkar’s character, who is named ‘Roshni’, decided to throw roshni on the surgery. So what does she do? She takes off all her clothes one by one and burns them.

When she has no more clothes to burn, the surgery magically comes to a successful end.

After the procedure, the doctor switches on the torch and searches for Roshni and finds her sitting on the ground, covering her bare body with her hands.

You have to see it to believe it. Here’s a snippet from the video:

People online were flabbergasted upon watching the scene. Some even asked why the doctor didn’t use the torch in the first place. Have a look:

But it turns out, the doctor had already mentioned that there isn’t enough light coming out of the torch. Hence, other ridiculously dramatic solutions had to be thought of.

Whoever wrote this scene deserves an Oscar.
