38-year-old Italian artist Johannes Stötter makes his living out of creating visually breathtaking art. And the fact that he has been crowned the World Bodypainting Champion is an indicator that he’s extremely good at what he does.
And now, he has made his latest creation. A Wolf. But this is no ordinary wolf.
“I had tried to design a standing wolf but it didn’t really work out. Suddenly I asked myself if it would work sitting and howling and I immediately took out a pen and a piece of paper and made a small sketch.”
Johannes said the idea came to him when he met a former model friend and two other women at a bar and one of them asked if he had tried a wolf. He said it all fit so well to him at that moment, that he immediately asked the women to accompany him to his studio. He said it took him hours to finalise the perfect position.
Johannes said that the wolf has been his most difficult work to date and also his best, because of the sheer number of hours and energy that has gone into it.
“it was difficult because the wolf is a mammal and it has a fur coat, which is much more difficult to paint and to make seem realistic than the skin of an amphibian or a reptile.”
Commenting on painting the wolf, Johannes said:
Johannes is a perfectionist and his other works include a chameleon, a frog, and a parrot, all of which were, at some point, mistaken for real animals.
