All of us have fears which is a very natural emotion. But some of us have phobias that are excessive, persistent, and anxiety-inducing. And the cause could be anything from heights, confined spaces, reptiles, and rodents.
According to News18, a software engineer from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, who got married in 2017, found out that his wife had Katsaridaphobia (fear of cockroaches). When she spotted one in the kitchen, she screamed, refused to enter the area and insisted on shifting homes. They have now switched 18 homes in 3 years!
Times Now News reports that the man has enlisted the help of private psychiatrists, including one at AIIMS, as well as BHAI Welfare Society, for counselling and medication. However, the woman claims that her husband has failed to understand her phobia and is trying to declare her as mentally ill.
After the continuous cycle of spotting a cockroach, screaming, throwing household items on the road, and shifting houses, the man is now tired of it all and is seeking a divorce.
