Wife Wins ₹69 Lakh Lottery, Marries Another Man While Husband Works Hard In South Korea

“Love flies out the window when poverty comes in knocking at the door.”

This is something my mother kept on telling me while I was growing up. She insisted that there is nothing called unconditional love between a couple and when money problems arise, when there are unpaid bills and daily survival seems like a task, love flies out the window. While it might not be true for many couples, it surely did come true for this one.

According to a report by Times Now, a man from Thailand named Narin married Chaweewan 20 years ago. They had three daughters together. However, they came from a very financially unstable background and had over 2 million Baht (Rs 48,19,548) debt over their heads.

So Narin moved to South Korea to work in 2014 while his wife stayed back in Thailand. He used to send somewhere between 27,000 to 30,000 Baht every month to support their family.

Later, Narin found out from one of their daughters that his wife Chaweewan hit a jackpot and won a lottery of 2.9 million Baht (Rs 69,88,344). When he tried to contact her, she ignored him.

After he came back to Thailand, he found that his wife had married another man.

“I was shocked and did not know what to do. I am disappointed. I did not expect that my wife of 20 years would do this to me. I only had 60,000 baht left in my bank account because I gave money to her every month. I want to call out for justice and the money that I deserve,” he said.

His wife, on the other hand, says a completely different story. According to her, she had broken off the marriage with Narin a couple of years back over a phone call and she had already told him about the lottery. She further alleged that Narin only sent 3,000 to 4,000 Baht to their daughter’s accounts every month. She has filed a defamation case against him.

This is why financial stability is so important. 😛
